How to add artist details (2011): Requirements

This website is set up to allow individual SBA members (rather than venues) to add their details for the Arts Trail.

If you are running a venue, you can provide information and an image to go in the printed Trail brochure. You should receive information about this in a separate email after registering to be a venue during the Arts Trail.

Requirements

Before you add your artist details, you should have the following to hand:

  1. A username and password for logging onto the site;
  2. The venue where you will show or perform your art during the Trail;
  3. A description of yourself and/or your art;
  4. An image to show with your description - the image should:
    • Be a JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg) file;
    • Have a size, on the longest dimension, of between 600-1000 pixels;
    • Have a maximum file size of 2 MB;
    • Not have any special characters in its file name - please restrict file names to having only letters (a-z and A-Z), numbers (0-9) and underscores ( _ ) or dashes ( - );
  5. A title for your image (up to 10 words);

If you don't understand the above requirements, please get someone to help you.

Other suggestions

Please visit the Logging in page, in the Help section if you have problems logging onto the site.

It might help to write these instructions down, print this page or open these instructions in a new window or tab, so that you have these instructions to hand while you are entering your details.

Your artist details entry can be edited once you have created it. It is not essential to know your venue before adding your details, but you may find it easier to set this option while adding your details rather than going back to change your entry later.

It is probably best to keep your description fairly brief (under 150 words) and write it out in Microsoft Word (or a similar word processor), to check the spelling and grammar first. You can then copy it and paste it into the correct place when adding your artist details.

Landscape images may be displayed slightly larger than portrait ones, and so may be clearer.

Uploading an image file that has characters in its name other than those listed above may interfere with the upload process.

Next step

You should only proceed when you have the things described above to hand - this will make the process easier for you.

Once you have everything together, log on to the site, then go on to the next stage.
