Last year a dedicated team of photographers wandered around the Arts Trail snapping away at the people having fun looking at all the art on display. The results were a fantastic collection of images that showed the diversity of art on display as well as being a unique record of the weekend.

The Bristol Beer Factory are kindly producing Trail Ale for us... The beer is 5%, golden with citrussy flavour and very very drinkable! It comes in 5 litre (that's about 8 pints) mini casks for you to enjoy in your home during the trail. These cost £12.50 and 50p from every 5 litres sold will be donated to Southbank Bristol Arts.
To order your 5 litre cask or for further information please contact Lucy Axon directly by emailing promotion@sbaweb.co.uk before Midday on Wednesday 25th April.
If you are a member of the SBA and you're taking part in this years Arts Week, then you are entitled to upload an image and some text about yourself to the Artist's listing for 2007. Most people have already done this, but if you haven't then it's time to put your skates on and get it done. If you don't have an account then email web@sbaweb.co.uk to get one set up. The listing is a great asset for artists, as we are indexed by all major search engines and your name will get spread world-wide. Definitely worth the time and effort!

This year's Arts Week Passport Guides are now being distributed. Any help with this is always welcomed - email communication@sbaweb.co.uk to arrange times to collect copies to distribute and send out.
This year's Guide has been wonderfully designed by Mark Cleave, and it's easy to see how much hard work he has done to create such a good publication.
Don't miss out - pick up your guide today from points all around the city including The Southville Centre, Beauley Road, Bristol.
Just waking up to the fact that it's very nearly April and, if it's very nearly April, May can't be far behind! It's that time of year again when, having committed into the Arts Trail, you suddenly realise that you'd better start producing something to exhibit! It might be a case of resorting to holiday photographs.....
I'm right in the middle of adding the performance calendar to the SBA website. If you see odd postings where there shouldn't be any please ignore them and they will go away. If you spot something that is obviously broken as a result of this, then let me know and I will try to get it fixed. Right. I'm off to watch Space 1999 (mad costumes!) for a bit then back to this. When do I get time to do a drawing?
That advice comes from someone who has been thoroughly involved in so many aspects of these and other trails, so it’s priceless.
I’d just like to add that a thorough reading of any instructions we give is going to be your best friend. They may seem long or scary to some of you, but that is because they are thorough (hopefully) rather than complex. It’s a few clicks and some information to type (or copy and paste).
One thing I’d like you all to do is not play with things if you’re not sure how they work - please just follow the instructions for now... Read more →
Well, here we are again, getting artists to upload their details in preparation for this years Arts Trail and arts week. It seems like only yesterday that we were doing this last year. For some of you it will be your first Arts Trail, others will be seasoned veterans. It doesnt matter, I think it's just as exciting every year, and the next few weeks will be hectic with activity, and for those of us who make the website, we've had it hectic for the last few months. Just like to say how much I like the new SBA website. It is clear, easy to navigate and well designed. Hoorah!
As Co-ordinator of the Trail I get quite a lot of phone calls and emails from people who are worried that they have missed deadlines or can't upload images or even that they don't know how to price their work. My first bit of advice would be breathe, breathe, breathe. There is nothing to panic about - missed deadlines might happen, but they're not the end of the world. I'm pretty sure that everyone's got the right information out at the right time (apologies now for any omissions). Read more →
