Call for Films!
As part of the Southbank Bristol Arts Trail 2011, which will be held in May, we are calling for people to unleash the hidden director inside of them. Dig into your pocket, pull out your digital camera or smartphone and make us a small film. Films must be a maximum of two minutes long, and can be on any subject and fall into any category - experimental, comedy, drama, animation, documentary - its up to you! Set the world to rights with a documentary, make that funny short film, or create a mysterious experimental piece. Anything goes.
On behalf of the Blatant Creation of Art we'd like to welcome any suggestions for songs, sketches, poems or indeed short films (if we're feeling ambitious) for our hour long show based on BS3. The show is called Sunset over Bedminster Moonlight over Southville (or is it the other way round?) and you can find out much much more here: http://blatantbs3.blogspot.com/ or by emailing us on email@example.com or you can follow us on Twitter/blatantart
Feel free to spread the(se) word(s).
I've just been mailed by someone at doorexhibition.co.uk requesting lots of personal info for a major show taking place in Bristol city centre in 2012. When I looked up the site I found it didn't exist. My suspicion is that some phisher out there has got hold of a list of artists - perhaps SBA. Go carefully!
We’re excitedly making preparations at Creative Glass Guild, for our first ever Annual Christmas Craft Market. Come and join us on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th December for a unique Christmas shopping experience in a relaxing festive environment.
There will be music, festive spirit and a feast for the eyes in terms of the beautiful, handmade products that will be available, in addition a children's area to allow a hassle free time for parents.
STELLA SHAW, SOLO EXHIBITION - "RETROSPECTIVE AND NEW"
Rainbow Cafe, 10 Waterloo St, Bristol BS8 4BT
SBA member artist Stella Shaw is currently having a solo show at the Rainbow Cafe, showing large and small works. A perfect opportunity to see her work and perhaps treat yourself or a loved one this Christmas. For information see website: http://www.stellashaw.co.uk
Throughout December there will be a massive advent calendar in the Broadwalk Arts window space.
We are looking for artists, makers, groups and anyone else who wants to get involved to design and make things to go behind the 25 windows. You'll be given a box and what you do with it is up to you (all we ask is that whatever you make fits inside the box as that's the only bit you'll be able to see). Work in the boxes can be in any media and should be on the theme 'my christmas'.
If you want to get involved email me: firstname.lastname@example.org and i'll send you a participation form.
In the lead up to Christmas Broadwalk Arts will be giving artists and makers the opportunity to have there own mini show in a space 2m x 1m (floorspace, most also have 2m of wall space)
The exhibition will run from Monday 29th November to Saturday 18th December and will be open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm (artists can participate for one week, two weeks or all three weeks)
