Last chance to see Comfortably Strange at View Art Gallery
http://viewartgallery.co.uk/index.html
6 imaginative artists challenge us to see beyond our first impressions. See View Art Gallery's blog http://view-art-gallery.blogspot.com/2010/02/comfortably-strange-exhibit... for a review of the show, which runs to April 11th.
On Saturday 12th June Broadwalk Arts will be hosting an artists mini market. Pitches will be 10 pounds each for 2m x 1m (most will have 2m of wall space). If you would like to apply to take part in this event please email a few images of the type of things you intend to show/sell and a short statement about yourself and your work. Please state in your application if you require wall space (as three pitches will back onto the windows). Participation will be by selection to ensure that we have a wide range of different types of work on display.
DEADLINE: 8th May
A cross-site open exhibition shown for the duration of the Bristol Festival of Photography at Retro Collectables on North St, Bedminster and Broadwalk Arts, Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Knowle.
BRIEF
Intrigued and inspired by the publics reticence to enter spaces they are unfamiliar with, ‘crossing the threshold’ asks photographers to reflect upon the experience of entering environments that potentially hold trepidation.
The inside space (not the big window) at Broadwalk Arts is available for photography based exhibitions, events, workshops, talks and anything else that we may not have heard of during Bristol Festival of Photography.
Events can last from one hour to one week.
To submit your idea please email a brief statement outlining what you would like to do and how you would make it happen along with your preferred dates/times and, if appropriate, a few images to: broadwalkarts@yahoo.co.uk
DEADLINE: 6th March
I am currently showing a selection of work in the café at the Southville Centre.
Come and see some of my newer work, including images of allotments and a spirograph submarine! Other features are a Red Arrow and a wheelbarrow!
They can also sort you out with tasty drinks, cake and other stuff while you peruse.
In January 2010 Broadwalk Arts is celebrating its first birthday. To celebrate we are holding an exhibition that will showcase the work of artists, makers and groups who have used the space over the past year.
The exhibition runs from 16th to 30th January, 10am to 5pm
Come along to the preview on Friday 15th January from 6pm to 7.30pm for a gift bag and a slice of cake (while stocks last)
