Janine is an enamel artist based in Bedminster, Bristol. She has exhibited at the Southbank Bristol Arts Trail since its inception and has been co-ordinator of the Arts Trail since 2006. She is also responsible for co-ordinating the Southville Centre venue.
Janine's images are mainly created by sifting vitreous enamel powder over a hand-cut stencil. Firings at 800 degrees last minutes, and layers are built up until satisfaction is reached. She works on abstract forms, but is generally best known for the images she creates which reflect the beauty of nature in a striking and contemporary way. She also uses similar imagery on her pendants, brooches and earrings.
Enamel is strong, durable, does not fade and is tactile so is ideal for all environments from board rooms to wash rooms, from kitchens to conservatories.
Janine exhibits widely in the Bristol area and South West region and has work for sale in galleries across the UK.
Welcoming commissions, Janine also invites anyone who is interested to visit her studio and see where she works and view the work she currently stocks.
Whilst Janine does repeat designs because of the process no two images are identical.
