‘Place’ is integral in my work as it allows for a way of locating ourselves in our environments, to re-discover our place in the world and to reclaim a sense of belonging. Currently my work explores the relationship between three primary areas or ‘sites’: place/environments, the body and ‘beauty’. Using film and installation I respond to these ‘sites’ by catching fragments, suspended moments where something else takes places, something beautiful or wonder-full that takes you out of yourself (un-selfing) and relocate it back into the world. These ephemeral moments of transformation fascinate me and through this I aim to create an intervention into the mundane, to find the extraordinary in the ordinary.
