I hope you are enjoying the Arts Trail here in South Bristol. I work in the medium of mosaic and use stained glass as its has a wonderful rich, vibrant colour and creates such light and reflections that transform the subject matter. I take inspiration from the colour and richness thats evident in the world around us. I have a passion for shape, form and pattern and this is expressed in abstract and representational pieces.
Mosaic is a fantastic medium to work in, the stained glass can be cut to any shape to achieve any image you wish to portray. Mosaic is a very tactile and therapetic art form that is not always evident in gallery exhibitions and I would like to see more mosaic pieces around Bristol.
I am a member of British Association of Modern Mosaicists (BAMM) and would point anyone to this site if you want to learn more or even have a go at mosaic yourself.
