11 Birch Road presents...
*Acoustic Garden Sessions*
We are showcasing a weekend of live acoustic music from our front and back garden, and living room. The music starts on sat 21st May 7.30 - 11pm, and continues on sunday 22nd between noon - 6pm.
Music is all free, and if you enjoyed it there will be a hat for donations to the musicians!
There will also be artwork in our house by illustrators, animators, a stained glass artist and paper toy maker on display and to buy.
Tea and cakes available, welcome to bring your own drinks.
Saturday 21st May
7.30pm - 11.30pm
Nikki Grant – Poetry on love, babies, slugs, with a surreal twist!
Kano and Steve – Japanese singer/songwriter, Kano Inoue, opens Birch Road’s musical weekend with her first UK performance, weaving heart felt piano and vocals accompanied by Steve Brett on clarinet.
Snails – Dan ‘Hollowbody’ Weltman and Mog ‘Wraiths’ Fry combine to form new folk band Snails, performing for the first time as a duo tonight.
Stanton Delaplane – ‘King of beardy folk’, who usually performs with loop pedals, but tonight will treat us with a purely acoustic set of beautiful quirkiness.
Glowglobes – Charming duo, Glowglobes, perform a magical and alluring hybrid of double bass and guitar with good humour and gypsy chic.
Sunday 22nd May
Noon - 6pm
Miss Melodica - Human jukebox playing your favourite theme tunes and other instantly recognizable numbers! An interactive and nostalgic experience with audience requests.
Hannah Porter – Playing piano in our front room while you browse the artwork on display.
Sarah Joy – Music written from the heart and sung from the soul, Sarah’s emotive lyrics and voice are as beautiful and strong as nature itself.
Andy Nowak – Natural vocals and harmonies, a good song and something real to share. Life affirming Bluegrass tunes from the up & coming Bristol singer/songwriter with the "foreign sounding name" (pronounced 'Novak').
Pindrop Band – ‘Acoustic music on the rocks’, returning to Birch Road for a second year, Pindrop will wrap around you like a warm breeze and make a home in your soul.
Mr Medler’s ‘Micro’-Ceilidh! – Accordianist Fin, Fiddle player Helen and Caller Joe Medler bring the weekend to an energetic end with a good old fashioned jig!
