Eeeek!

40 Mount Pleasant Terrace, on the 2007 Arts Trail

Things are afoot! The Annual General Meeting (AGM) approaches (7 November 2007 - see the latest newsletter) and it seems that many of the people who have been making the Southbank Bristol Arts organisation tick are stepping down from their posts.

These people have done a great deal for the organisation, and in doing so have affected anyone who has participated in the Arts Trails and other shows, events and projects that have been organised by the members of the SBA Steering Group in the last few years. They have put in a lot of work and impressive things have happened as a result.

That kind of work is rewarding but takes its toll and it’s necessary to take a rest from such things or move on to new pastures.

This is going to leave a bit of a vacuum in the organisation and that space needs to be filled by fresh people. The AGM is the time to do join up.

The organisation is made by those who get involved. If you want to make a difference to art in the South Bristol area, you can do so by coming to the AGM and joining the Steering Group.

You don’t have to do all of anything yourself, if you don’t want to or don’t have the time, but the more people there are to support the various organisation aspects, the better.

Although it is by no means the only project organised by the SBA, the Arts Trail alone is a big event in the calendar for the artists and others who participate in it.

It would be a shame to lose it.
