Christopher's sculptures explore transitional states. A selection of works in steel, plaster and resin will be exhibited on the trail.
'My work focuses on the transistional states of thought and place. The physical action in the binding of the steel wire is caught in the plaster skin. Through the making process of the work i am exploring myself. Culminating in sculpture. An investigative insight into transitional states and the self.'
'There appears to be a conformed and standard pattern of movement in the physical making in each of my works but this differs depending on the angle of thought that is feeding the piece. Though it's apparent to me that the action made when binding the wire is one of an aggresive spontaneity with a developing rhythmic pulse that sets the tone of each individual piece.'
