A display of bowls

I am a textile artist and printmaker. I will mostly be exhibiting textile work at the art trail, and a few prints. The prints will be collagraphs and viscosity prints, a technique using deep acid etching where three colours can be used on a single copper plate with only one pull through the press. Both of these printing methods allow a degree of uncertainty and spontaneity to emerge during the printing process which i really like. The element of surprise always interests me!

Most of my textile work is in felt-making. My signature pieces are felt vessels, which are non-functional, but very tactile, colourful and decorative. I also make images in felt which i mount onto coloured board. These can easily be removed for framing if a less colourful mountboard is preferred.

Colour is very important to me and emanates throughout my work. I take great pleasure in working with wool and creating something complete from it.
