Katie Devenish is a printmaker working with the 'imagined animal'.
She illustrates a personal vision of creatures that are real in every sense.
Enhancing and embellishing their characters through the use of exaggeration and mark making.
Rachel is a writer of words and drawer of pictures. Her varied illustrations of everything from dragons to creatures who live in the fridge aim bring a smile to your face and colour to your walls. Using leaps of imagination she captures the innocence and ‘anything is possible’ abandon of childhood - the abandon which sometimes we need a gentle nudge to remember is still there. She also prints giant poems about miniature bears.
I am an illustrator/printmaker working from my studio in Southville. I graduated from Uwe in 2003 and since then have worked mainly in the editorial and publishing front of illustration. Im really looking forward to my first year involved in the Southbank Art's trail, exhibiting along side some very talented up and comig artists Josh, 6yrs and Milly, 8yrs! I will mainly be exhibiting limited edition silk-screen prints at affordable prices.

Over the past 18 months I have been working on a series of silkscreen prints focussing on the buildings of Bristol. What started as an obvious choice of theme (the coloured terraces helped me to fall in love with Bristol after leaving Brighton in 1995) is gradually turning into an obsession! Everywhere I go in Bristol I find myself imagining how I could turn each view or vista into a print.
My work involves constantly developing and experimenting with differing concepts and ideas to produce an alchemic artifact.
Ceramics: Cylinders & bowls - Slipcast/ organic material /sawdust fired white earthenware.
Prints: Text and it's placement and displacement upon the page - Mono, Lithograph and Linocut.
