I'm a storyteller. My own storytelling style is influenced by my training in fine-art and experimental physical theatre. I perform stories for children's and adults groups in educational, community and leisure settings. Inspired by the 1960's New York "Happenings", I've recently set up "the Loft" in my home as a mini-stage-space for small-scale story or experimental artistic performances. This year's Arts Trail is the first time The Loft is opening to the public for a "Family Storytelling" event. Drawing from their experiences as mothers and physical comedians, performance company Bocadalupa (Amy Rose and Jenny Sanderson) host this most unconventional cake sale.

A range of cakes, created on the theme of motherhood by members of the public, will be exhibited and for sale. There will be short performances by the company throughout the day.

Philip Ringland is a professional close-up magician based in Bristol. A natural performer Philip’s style is characterized by a unique charm and humour that people easily warm to.

Philip is resident magician at Bristol’s Byzantium restaurant, taking over from Derren Brown in 2003, and is also a talented actor and musician. Philip will be combining his talents to compere, delight and amaze on Saturday and Sunday.
