Rook (portent of famine)

An itinerant peddler of chapbooks and assorted ephemera, I will be hawking whimsical tat and currying favour in the shameless (yet potentially futile) pursuit of further commissions during the Arts Trail.

This sort of base self-aggrandisement ought not to be encouraged, but if you are perhaps inclined to investigate you might find the following at 49 Leighton Road:

Amy Fox

Twizzle

The Twizzle Bird and Other Stories…is an exciting collection of short-run, limited edition prints, by Amy Fox. These artworks have a warm, homespun charm, coupled with the slick sophistication of digital print. The bold, textural pieces are crafted with a fusion of printing, stitching, painting, cloth, ink, paper and computer work. The images conjure up stories of mystery and fun enchanting both adults and children alike.

I took some time out during the summer of 2007 and went to Cyprus College of Art for their Summer Studio Programme. I was extremely inspired by the surroundings and the people around me and spent most of my time drawing people on the beach and various scenes around the seafront. I've been drawing anything that takes my fancy since!

My larger scale work is currently on show in the Grainhouse Cafe at Bristol YHA, 14 Narrow Quay until the end on May.

Michelle Barker

Beautiful Zombie

I graduated from the University of Plymouth in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Design: Illustration. Since then I have worked as a freelance illustrator in Bristol and Plymouth for clients including the Terrence Higgins Trust, the Marine Biological Association and Adbusters magazine, and I have exhibited throughout the south west. My graffiti-style illustrations are produced using stencils, spraypaint, print-making and digital techniques, creating eye-catching images which are influenced by political and social issues, music and nature.
