Sunday 2 / 2.15 - 3 pm
We are very excited to be welcoming back to Allington Road the 'beguilingly shabby' Dearlings with divine a'cappella arrangements of the most exquisite songs. The Dearlings are Lucy, Katkin, Anna and Maddy. "Think of beautiful songs you love and sing them. That's what we do, and the idea is for us to try anything we want to try and go on a musical journey together. Hope you like it. Come and see us."
New duo One Star Awake sing and play traditional folk songs from England, Ireland and Scotland, plus a couple of compositions. Sue Mara's vocals are accompanied by Anna Kissell's fiddle, or on some songs, we both sing acapella in close harmony. Occasionally we’re joined by other musicians; on our current demo, for example, jazz pianist Pete Rosser guests on one track.
We've just started playing gigs as a duo, including supporting Martin Carthy recently.
The gorgeous songs we sing and play are usually slow, haunting, atmospheric - even the up-tempo ones carry a dark shimmer...
Sunday 1.30 - 2pm
We are honoured to be welcoming the wonderful Wraiths back to No 1 Allington Rd this year. If you have never heard acoustic duo Mog and Jon perform then you would be wise not to miss them! The Wraiths put music to poetry in the most bewitching way... this is a rare treat to see them perform in such an intimate space. Thank you Mog and Jon!
