CLAIRE DADSWELL GLASS.

I have worked professionally with glass since 1998, having trained and worked in a leading stained glass studio in Bristol, I started my own stained glass business in 2007.

From my studio I design and build new panels, as well as repairing and restoring existing ones.
I also make Tiffany style lamps and mirrors.

Southville Glass Studio offers regular classes in stained glass, fusing and painting on glass.

My work is on display in the Beauley Room at the Southville Centre.

Fused glasswork is a great way to explore colour and light and this is the main focus of my work. I enjoy the design process and technical discipline that each piece requires. Each finished piece is unique and whilst work can be repeated, each will have it’s own dimensions.

Transparent glass can be enhanced by both natural and directed light and pieces can be designed for different settings. I have used natural and abstract forms in several pieces to explore layering and composition, as well as rhythm in pattern.

Red maids School Westbury-on-trym

I work from the Southville Glass Studio restoring old and making new stained glass windows for the public or domestic setting. I use traditional or contemporary design depending on the individual requirements of the commission.
My own work shows a painterly style mixed with the textures of acid etched glass.
Other techniques on glass include screenprinting and fused peices.
Come and see what I am working on!
