My jewellery collection has grown out of my love for colour texture and combining different materials. I enjoy browsing through junk shops and car boot sales looking for little bits of ‘treasure’ such as vintage lace, old buttons and china. The idea of ‘preciousness’ is important to me and I’m especially concerned with taking these little bits of ‘treasure’ and turning them into objects of value and desire. I like the ‘playfulness’ of childhood images and use pictures from old comics, books scraps of fabric and toys to make jewellery using resin, silver, copper and enamels.
Ever since I was young I have had a very visual eye for life. I have always been drawn to colours, textures and interesting subjects such as nature and architecture, which make quite ‘graphical’ images.
After years of experimenting with a wide range of media and techniques I have now found my greatest passions in photography and enamelling.
“I love the experimental quality to enamelling, you never quite know how each work is going to turn out and every piece is a unique original.”
