Sew Scrumptious

dscase.JPG

My name is Louise and I am a fabric addicted mum of two who has been sewing since I was a small child. I make quirky gifts for children using fabulous contemporary fabrics, buttons and ribbons. I also co-ordinate a charity in the UK which encourages people who can sew to make handmade dresses which are distributed to girls in developing countries like Malawi and Uganda. When I am not sewing, I blog about sewing! http://sewscrumptious.blogspot.co.uk

Angie Parker - Divaweaver

Two Chairs.

Award winning Textile Artist, Angie Parker, will be showing her handwoven rugs, wall hangings and up-cycled chairs.
Her bold use of colour gives a contemporary feel to the traditional Scandinavian techniques she uses, and rich textures are created by using a variety of yarns in each piece.

Weaving demonstrations are another reason to visit this venue, as Angie will be busy 'sampling' on her table loom for the duration of the Arts Trail.

Jenny Silverman (Printmaker) and Katie Murton (Ceramics) are also showing at this venue.

DebbIe Halfhide

P1020163_0.JPG

I am a self taught artist who combines art with a full time job and I produce art in a range of different media. My paintings are mostly of animals and my favourites medium is a combination of watercolour and coloured pencil. I have recently been experimenting with textiles and produced a number of art quilts. I am also a keen photographer and on display in addition to my paintings and art quilts there will be some of my photographs.

Lis Davis

'Tulip' Batik (approx. 21" x 29")

Recently I’ve added batik and print-making to my repertoire having been on a great Fabric Design course at St. Pauls Learning Centre.
The techniques really lend themselves to my love of texture, fabric and the element of surprise.
I plan to include some fledgling examples of them along with my ‘regular’ acrylic and mixed media paintings.
I'll be in the Beauley room at the Southville Centre and hope to see you there.

Blooming Buttons
