Following her professional photographic training in Sheffield, Sarah’s work has been exhibited throughout the UK and France – both in solo and group exhibitions.

Sarah captures moments in an ever-changing world, recognising that despite man’s efforts to create permanence, nature will always intervene and thus the cycle of birth, decay, death and rebirth continues.

I am based at Jamaica Street Studios in Bristol, where I have my own studio space and kiln. I like to work with casting slips, especially porcelain as it has a beautiful quality, with a pure white finish. I am experimenting with decorating slips and Sgraffito, on heart shape and cylinder forms. This is where you scratch into the top layer of slip, revealing the white clay body underneath. I am enjoying working with this technique, as it allows me to draw into clay and create patterns and texture. I will sometimes finish work with hints of gold lustre and transfers.
